History of the Hall of Fame Award
The distinguished Hall of Fame program was established to honor Woodrow Wilson graduates, former students, and faculty who have made significant contributions to society and whose accomplishments and careers have brought credit to the institution.
Nominating Procedure
Persons wishing to nominate an alumnus for this award should include a completed nomination form, a current picture and a resume/biography of the nominee. Nominations for induction into Woodrow’s 2028 Centennial Anniversary Hall of Fame will be accepted from July 1, 2027 until January 31, 2028.
Induction Selection Committee Procedure
Purpose | To establish a fair, transparent, and inclusive process for appointing members to the Selection Committee responsible for reviewing and choosing Alumni Hall of Fame inductees.
Representation:
- Diverse graduation years.
- Varied professional backgrounds.
- Balanced mix of alumni and community stakeholders (including current PTA and current/former faculty members as necessary).
- At least one current PTA and/or WWHSAA officer. (Non-voting if needed)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Be alumni or affiliated with the school community.
- Demonstrate integrity, discretion, and commitment to the school’s values.
- Have no conflicts of interest with current nominees.
Each Selection Committee member will be provided with:
- Hall of Fame criteria and rubric.
- Timeline and responsibilities.
- Confidentiality agreement.
- Conflict of interest policy.
Nomination Procedure
Eligibility | To be considered for induction into the Hall of Fame, an individual must be:
- Worthiness | Distinguished in his or her career, life work, or other worthy endeavor.
- Philanthropic Endeavors | A person who has supported important causes through philanthropy, with either money or time or both.
- High Integrity/Stature | A person of high integrity and moral stature who will inspire faculty, staff and students to take pride in his or her recognition.
- Post-Graduation Interest | A person who demonstrates a continued post-graduation interest in Woodrow Wilson High School, takes pride in the alma mater, and whose interest and loyalty are evident.
Automatic Ineligibility | To maintain the integrity and purpose of the Hall of Fame, the following criteria will result in automatic disqualification of a nominee:
- Lack of Alumni Status | Nominee is not a verified graduate or former faculty member of Woodrow Wilson High School.
- Criminal Convictions | Nominee has been convicted of a felony or serious criminal offense that reflects poorly on the values of the school or community.
- Ethical Violations | Documented history of professional misconduct, fraud, or ethical violations in their field of work.
- Active Litigation or Investigation | Nominee is currently involved in legal proceedings or investigations that could compromise the reputation of the Hall of Fame.
- Conflict of Interest | Nominee is currently serving on the Hall of Fame Selection Committee or has direct influence over the selection process.
- Incomplete or Fraudulent Nominations | Nomination forms that are incomplete, falsified, or submitted with misleading information will not be considered.
- Recent Alumni Status | Nominee graduated within the past 10 years (unless an exception is made for extraordinary achievement).
- Entire Classes or Groups | More than one person or group is nominated together. (All nominations must be for one person only.)
Award Recognition Procedure
Induction awards are to be granted at a date, time and place determined by the Chairperson of the Hall of Fame Committee, and approved by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee. Each new inductee will receive a congratulatory letter and an invitation to the awards presentation.
Exceptions
These award requirements and procedures may be waived in exceptional circumstances by 2/3 vote of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee.

Nominations for induction into Woodrow’s 2028 Centennial Anniversary Hall of Fame will be accepted from July 1, 2027 until January 31, 2028.
Awards will be conferred to recipients receiving approval of the majority vote of the Selection Committee based on four (4) categories:
- Accomplishments - 40% (Career, life work, academics, athletics, artisan or other worthy endeavors)
- Philanthropy - 25%
- Character - 25%
- Sustained Involvement - 10% (Sustained post-graduation interest in Woodrow – time, talent, influence and/or funds)
