Join the WWHSAA Board! Serve on a Committee!

At our core, the WWHSAA supports Woodrow Wilson HS and its students, preserves school history, and strengthens alumni bonds. This is important work for our Woodrow community, its students and faculty, and our own families. We will work diligently this year to ensure the WWHSAA is an accurate reflection of what our alma mater stands for. We'd love for you to join us and help us in this work! We welcome and encourage involvement from each decade of graduates, from walk of life.

While we love to hear about the diverse skills and expertise of our alumni, there is no experience required to volunteer with the WWHSAA. All you need is the desire to support our alma mater, its parents, students, faculty, and community.

Committee Descriptions

Below you will find brief descriptions of committee roles and corresponding responsibilities. Many of these roles and responsibilities overlap and the President and Vice President(s) will support your work! If you have any questions, please submit an interest form and we will get connected with you, ASAP!

Please note: Committees are subject to change as needs are identified.

Community & Programs Committee – Ensure that the WWHSAA supports access to all alumni events year-round by identifying alumni related activities and networking with the community to collaborate. Develop a plan to promote the Anniversaries and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies held every 5 years.

Decades Committee - Champion the membership, volunteerism, and fundraising for each decade of Woodrow Alumni. Committee members work with the VP of Fundraising and VP of Membership in collaboration with the VP of Communications/PR.

Fundraising Committee - Support the VP of Fundraising in planning, promoting, and executing alumni events. Network through membership and the community to continually raise funds for the WWHSAA. Supervise the development and sale of merchandise. Find new opportunities to fundraise to support WWHSAA programs. Partner with the VP of Community + Programs, VP of Communication, and Treasurer to raise funds effectively.

Historian Committee - Create and maintain the WWHSAA's digital archives, including all activities sponsored by the WWHSAA.

Membership/Volunteer Committee- This position is tasked with recruiting members and volunteers to assist the WWHSAA to successfully grow and engage membership. The foundation of achieving our mission to provide financial support to the school, participate in appropriate school events, coordinate student/alumni mentoring, promote school pride, preserve, and share school history, and facilitate alumni social activities that promote continued lifelong bonds starts with the membership role.
